Giving Tuesday

Our 2025 Goal: To provide an X-Ray Machine to the Santa Barbara County Animal Services Clinic Team

Why Does Santa Barbara County Animal Services Need an X-Ray Machine?

Each year, the number of stray and surrendered animals arriving at our three county shelters continues to grow, and at least one in four comes in with medical concerns. While our shelters aren’t mandated to treat these conditions, they do everything they can to help in the pursuit of animal welfare and second chances.

As the Santa Barbara County Animal Care Foundation, we’re fortunate to have veterinary partners who assist us and Animal Services. However, those expenses add up quickly. Our Sebastian Medical Fund is what allows us to provide medical treatment for animals in need, and a significant portion of those costs come from X-rays alone.

Every animal with an underlying injury or illness requires an X-ray before veterinarians can properly diagnose or treat them. Having our own X-ray machine on-site would reduce these outside costs tremendously, allowing us to treat more animals quickly and give even more of them the second chance they deserve.

This Giving Tuesday, your support can help us make that possible.

What is Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity that inspires people everywhere to give back, through donations, volunteering, or simple acts of kindness. Held each year after Thanksgiving, it’s a reminder to shift from shopping to sharing and support the causes that matter most.
