Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Animal Services. As a volunteer you have the ability to change the lives of hundreds of animals.
Youth must be 14 years of age to volunteer
There are two categories of Youth
- Youth 14-18 years old working with parental supervision
- Youth 14-18 years old working without parental supervision
The job description of each youth category is different. Youth without parental supervision will start off as a greeter and will not work directly with the animals. The greeter job is also very important.People come into the shelter in need of information. If the line is too long they may leave prematurely and important communication may be lost. A greeter helps to direct people to the correct information, which can result in an animal being reunited with its owner, an animal being adopted, or people being able to take care of their business in an efficient manner.
To begin, you must attend a County volunteer orientation. Shelter volunteers are invaluable! They help make a huge difference within the County Shelter. If you are interested in learning more about the volunteering contact …
